Something wicked this way comes~

----March 10, 2014-----

Spud here, bringing you today's news!

We forgot to mention last journal that breeding is open again! Try to not flood poor Liddle with a million notes, but you may send in geno requests again.

We're also opening a new registry number, the "R" series that deals with retired mutations and/or genos that never make it to the registration process. The moth mutation will be going there as well as some other horses. ALL "R" series horses are un-breedable or deceased, and the exact criteria for what an R series horse is is being worked on, but now we all know it's there, and life's good!

Also, check out the Drammen Season event, and tell your friends! We'd love to get these horses out into the population and would love to see some new faces around (though it's not like the old ones were bad...).

On less pleasant news, I've received some reports that Midnitella has received some unpleasant notes about her new breed 'copying' mutations from the Drammens. I'm officially announcing the the group's stance on this is that she is NOT copying and we request that anyone who may have brought the issue up with her cease doing so. Midnitella is a real friend to the group, and we'd like to make sure she stays that way. If anyone was curious, Midni's new breed has a Badger mutation, similar, but also very different from our own Weasel mutation, they also have an Oceanus mutation (compare to Tropican and Jellyfish), and the Cerva Cutis mutation, in which horses show traits of horned deer. Similar in concept, but very different in practice. And if anyone's interested, her new breed is quite cool, and you should check it out!

Per usual, it is Spyt here. I have a lot of news to tell you all so lets get to it!

First off, the wonderful Drammen Season has started. People may try out for the open imports, some of which are mutation starters. There are three types of auctions: art auction, comment to claim, and a raffle. Some of the group horse's slots will also be up for grabs! Drammen Season will also be hosting a small parade show for everyone to show off their parade tack. With that in mind, the restrictions and rules for tack and emblems has changed. Stable emblems will be allowed instead of a dam's emblem will be allowed. The tassels of tack are also allowed in unnatural colors. The final change will be that dragons can be depicted on emblems for horses that are raised with dragon hunters/around dragons; dragons may be added to the emblem of a horse if it meets those requirements.

Treats are making a come back. I, Spyt, am still working on those. The tiger treat is being changed to just a striped treat; instead of only tiger stripes, you can get tribal or flowery ones as well. Any type of striping is allowed as long as it doesn't make the horse look like the tiger or quagga mutation. There will also be some available for free, instead of all of them being group-issued. The journal will be revised with that information.

This should probably have been first, but I forgot. The Drafts of Drammen team would like to welcome Dappleclaw and candle-liight on as new admins. They will be helping out with keeping our journals up to date and helping members in need.

Imports will be available again. The price has increased and art payments have changed. The import journal will have all of that information later today.

The biggest news in the point system has changed. We felt it could be a little to complicated for most people. Headshots and Busts have been combined into just one thing. The other categories have been lumped into Self-Drawn/Collaboration, Art from Others, and Commissions. Things such as photomanips and plushies are still there, but under their own section. Literature now gives points. Everyone should reread the new system and adjust ranks accordingly.
Point journals are also now REQUIRED. The journals must have thumbnails, a written breakdown of what the picture is worth, and a total amount of points next to it. This will drastically speed up the process by which admins can count points and change ranks; before there would be a lot of backlog because they had to open up 50+ links (some of which didn't work) and figure out what the picture was and if the point value was correct. Combined with the different point categories it got extremely confusing and time-consuming.
Anyone who is unsure of how to put together a point journal or needs help is welcome to contact the group for help. We know this might be a lot of work for some people, so Spyt, Jade, Dapple, and Liddle have volunteered to help people recount their points and put together point journals.

Smaller Topics
-We've been getting some comments about this, so to clear the air, Moth is not a mutation. Due to the similarities to the Nordanner Butterfly mutation it was decided by admins that it wasn't a good fit for the Drammen group. This decision is final. As far as the group is concerned this Drammen never existed, thus does not have a registry number.
-There is a new group horse! Import 120, Honey, was given to the group to be our very own weasel starter.
-There will be no new Jellyfish starters until the group hits at least 1000 horses. There are currently six of them and we don't want overbreeding of the mutation.
-The group will be announcing the results of the Bi-Annual Drammen show in a few days. The results were announced previously, but a few were left out and need to be corrected. Notes will be sent to all the winners.
-The Official Drammen Monthly Raffle will be making a return! This time members are allowed to contribute to the raffles and admins will switch off with who does prizes.
-Most of the older journals and resources have gotten revamped. In the last news update I listed some. The links on the front page have been updated and cleared up for less confusion. The rest of the journals have been updated as well.
-We have a new breed sheet and mutation sheets. They are pretty <3

I assume when you say open breeding board you mean: drafts-of-drammen.deviantart.c…? Because I definitely used that to find the parents of my soon-to-be-first Drammen. ^_^

Group horses sound good! It would be nice to see a mix of colors for people to choose from.
